And im now taking my small step towards the fulfilment of this resolution. ohh...im so happy can!

** The BF's birthday celebrations. **
This was my first time baking a birthday cake for him since i recognized on my passion and potential in baking during mid 2009. And up to date, this is the 5th cake i baked. Not the best/professional, but still remarkable leh. =D It was a Saturday and i have to wake up early to get ingredients and other preps ready. But i think the final product totally makes all the efforts justifiable.
It was 10am in the morning when i started to prepare the cake mixture..
Mix and whip them well. =)

The meet up was at 7pm and it was supposingly to be a mini surprise celebration for him. But he was totally aware our plan and made us have to keep changing the plan so as in order to keep the minimum surprising element there. And not forgetting that i shld be thanking Alex and Sherrie for helping me to buy the cake base ( it was a really really last min request!) and dropping by my place to pick me up to deposit the cake at Cineleisure. Appreciate it lotsa!
After deposition of the cake, we meet up with the rest at Plaza Sing. Everywhere were crowded with queues of people waiting for their turn to get into the restuarant. So eventually we managed to get seats in the Fish Manhattan Market Restuarant.
While waiting for food to be served after we've ordered our food, Cam-whoring starts!
Why so curious?
Digging for some gold? or dandruffs?
Lovely couple, Alex & Sherrie.
yours truly and the BF, Dan.
The Three Mausketeers or Three little Pigs? Umm...
Patrick, Edision and CK.
Totally Random.
Some food that we've ordered. They got 3 different kinds of Fish and Chips! and their grilled fish is really delicious!
After the dinner we chilled there for awhile and start playing games! Our game master Patrick aka Xing never fails to come out with games when we needed one. And the game session was packed with laughterssss. Guys in this group are total jokers and filled with funny actions and ideas, it will never be boring going out with them. Oh ya, they are all of same frequency.. that explains why they are brothers for years. =D
We then came out with idea of going cine to watch movie and we when we arrived there, Edison and CK told Dan that they have to go off ( they actually went to Cine lvl 9 to meet up with Marcus and set up the cake. But when we went in to the room, we didnt see a single soul and i caught Dan's disappointed look (Coz he thought that there was really no surprises for him!) However, as he walk in further in the room, Marcus hopped on to Dan and gave him a big jolt. Hahahas. Thats probably the biggest shock of the day ya! hahahas.

Ready for the cake?
Make your wishes now.

The Finale, the sweet family photo. =)
** The BFF's & JP's birthday celebration **
It was JP's suggestion for us to dine at Golden Mile Tower. It was a steamboat restaurant that was co-owned by one of his army friends. Before we went there, he keep telling us on how good the food is so you shall understand that we pinned high expectations on the food before we get to eat it. Remarkably, the food really tastes awesome! Usually those food that we had high expectations on wouldnt taste as delectable as what we thought it would be. But surprisingly, for this one, it really does.
Whats a little unique about this steamboat compared to others that you can find at bugis/chinatown area is, you will order the steamboat ingredients ( Seafood, meat , vegs) by the portion ( small: $20plus, medium:$30plus or large: $40) instead of pay a certain amount and eat all you can. Besides that, they also have ala carte zhe char dishes ( eg. sweet & sour pork and many others), haianese chicken with char siew and/or roasted meat ( order by portion as well) and even satays! And the rice they served is the all-time favourite chicken rice's Rice - the rice is heavenly nice lor, we all had 2 servings of it! no joke!
Eagerly putting all the ingredients into the steamboat.
This rice is so so 好吃. omg..
Chicken is very tender and juicy! plus factor the skins are not too oily, so you can eat with it!
Char Siew is flavourful with minimum fats.
Roasted Meat isnt too special, probably because i dont really like to eat that.
The chicken soup base is tasteful but too much MSG added.
The final verdict:
1) Refrain from ordering a too big portion of steamboat ingredients. We ordered the large one (for 4pax) and ended up couldnt finish it. Try order a smaller portion and save some stomach space for their other ala carte dishes and the hainanese chicken is a must eat!
2) Though the hainanese chicken and roasted food are 4 stars-ed, their chilli sauce still need some improvement. The Chilli sauce tasted bitter + sour-ish, i feel that it just kinda dont complement the chicken and roasted food. Good sauces (esp Chilli sauce ) can improve the taste significantly!
3) Dont go there too late if you wana eat the chicken. I heard that their hainanese chicken usually gets sold out really fast.. umm.. like by 8pm??

After the dinner, we went to Tiong Bahru Park to cut the birthday cake and some dramas happened there....
We (Me and KW) got Zann & JP to buy lighters so we are able to ambush the sabotage stuffs at the surrounding. Just some quick info, we will be throwing eggs and sugar.
So after the birthday songs singing, a malay boy ( probably ard 10yrs old or younger) appear out of no where and asked " jiejie, whose birthday is it?" and out of politeness, i replied, "its this korkor's and jiejie's birthday" So he went to Zann and JP to wish them Happy Birthday. And what im going to say next is the first drama, the boy took out a cigarette, light it and smoke it infront of us, like so professional and so normal. We are all startled. He then leave us and walked towards his group of friends who are about our age. ( At the very same time, KW passed me & Zann the eggs, we are ready to throw!) Still shocked, we cutted the cake and only to realise that we cant finish as we have yet to recover from that super fulfilling dinner. So, we decided to give the cake to the boy. The boy brought the cake to his group of friends and passed us the reminding cake. On his way back to find his friends after passing us the cake, the boy saw our ambushment ( there are 2 eggs left at the ambush area) and shout, " Jiejie, you all playing eggs ar?" Upon hearing that, KW and Zann immediately smash their eggs on JP's head and whats most funny is about to happen next. The malay boy smash the other 2 eggs on JP's head as well. I burst into laughters and handed the eggs that im holding onto to malay boy for him to throw the eggs at JP. Hahahas. that was the second drama. Then JP rushed to the toilet for a wash up, but the wash up is futile. I poured a packet of sugar on him very soon after he got back from the wash up. Poor boy. Ended up being so nuritious, so sweets. But we reckoned that he loved this sabotage. He was expecting all these while!
